Chardonnay from young vines planted in a cool, west-facing parcel over clay, limestone and marl in the village of Plottes. The grapes were pressed directly to barrels for two years of elévage, producing a pale straw yellow wine that is heady with smoke, citrus and stones. This absolutely hums with energy and acid, and should evolve into something beautiful over the coming years.
